THE SHEPHERDESS TOUR

About
The Shepherdess Tour starts in the majestic village of Saksun with the local shepherdess of Dúvugarðar, Sonja D. Nolsøe.
When seated safely in the feeding truck, she gives you a guided tour while leading you through the longest valley in the Faroe Islands, Saksunardalur.
You will experience the daily feeding routine on the largest sheep farm in the Faroe Islands.
The tour offers spectacular views all through the valley, close contact with the sheep and sheepdog and the opportunity to participate in the feeding of the sheep.
During lambing season (starting end of April) there will be a good chance to get up close to the lambs.
Getting to the 11 various flocks involves several river crossings with the 4x4 truck, as well as the opportunity to talk to Sonja during the tour.
