About the tour

One of the most unique sights in the Faroe Islands are “Drangarnir”. Drangarnir are two sea stacks between Vágar and the islet Tindhólmur. The distinct names of Drangarnir are Stóri Drangur and Lítli Drangur which can be translated into Large- and Small sea stack.

It is now possible for you to see these with your own eyes – on this tour with a local guide. The tour starts by the marina in Sørvágur, where you will join one of our captains on our boat. He will take you to the drop off spot, approximately 3 kilometres from Drangarnir, and then a local guide will bring you to all the different viewpoints of the sea stacks. When it’s time to return, the boat will pick the group up right by the sea stacks. (Please note that in cases of rough sea conditions the return pickup spot must be the same as the drop off spot)

The tour is approximately 3-4 hours in total and can be 3-6 kilometres of hiking.

Meeting place

The meeting point is by the marina in Sørvágur, located along Bakkavegur. See link below for exact location.

According to Faroese legislation walking on the in- and outfields require the landowners’ permission. You are only allowed to walk in this area with a guide. Hiking here without a guide can be fined.

A care for the nature and the sheep and wildlife that lives on the uncultivated area is essential. These areas are first and foremost the feeding and breeding fields for sheep and wildlife in general. It is therefore very important that traveling through this area is on the paths and organized to minimize the disturbing of sheep, wildlife and nature as much as possible.
